Why do we need your account information?

Currensee is all about trading together – real traders and real trades. The only way we can make this happen is by connecting with your brokerage account. When you enter your account information, we establish an initial connection with your broker’s execution platform and then securely store and use this information to serve-up your positions and trade information in real-time.

How do we connect to your broker?

In order to offer real-time decision-making, we connect directly to the execution platforms of your broker. Different brokers have different execution platform and offer various communication methods and we always pick the most secure way of communicating with your broker.

What information are we retrieving from the broker?

We periodically collect basic account information like account balances and available margin and we listen to all the market and pending orders that you place with your broker. We use this information behind the scenes to populate our social indicators but it is never made public to any Currensee member. Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us.

What If I don’t want to link my broker account?

Because Curresee is all about real-time trade decisions, all members are required to link to their brokerage account. Remember that you get to decide who sees your trades and can easily adjust your privacy settings at any time by clicking on your Profile and changing the settings in the Privacy tab.

How do we store this information?

We encrypt, store and protect all account information our database using a similar manner that banks and brokerage firms use to safe-guard your financial information. The privacy and security of your data is our top priority and we are constantly monitoring our systems to ensure your data is safe. Remember, you decide with whom you want to share your private information.

As always, you can refer to our privacy policy and security policy for more information.

What happens if I want to switch brokers?

If you want to switch your broker, all you need to do is go to your Profile. Click on the Accounts tab and then simply create a new broker account link and delete the existing one. You may also have multiple brokerage accounts linked to Currensee.

What happens if I want to leave Currensee?

We hope it never happens but if, for some reason, you decide to leave Currensee, we will delete all of your private information from the database. Trading information and other information we have collected about you will continue to be stored anonymously.
