Shaun Downey, Chief Market Analyst

Shaun<br />
DowneyWhen it comes to broad market analysis and deep Forex strategies, Shaun is the man. As Chief Market Analyst, Shaun brings his extensive knowledge of both the fundamental and technical Forex arena to provide commentary, insight and trading strategies to the Currensee trader network and the Forex industry at-large.

How many kids do you know who started their trading career at the ripe old age of 16? Well, Shaun is one of the few. He started trading with Rudolf Wolff Commodity Brokers, trading and brokering Soft Commodities, Oil and LME before being promoted to lead their market making FX Spot and Forwards. From there, he went on to Fulton Prebon to trade Bond Futures, and then to Australia to head trading for AFP, specializing in stock options and convertible note arbitrage, whilst advising and trading the groups' global interest rate and currency exposure. But wait there’s more. He then joined Reuters to be part of the design and launch team of the Globex platform. He’s spent the last 17 years as a technical analyst at CQG (www.cqg.com ) teaching, consulting, and promoting technical analysis and system creation around the world.

All that impressive experience led Shaun to write “Trading Time, New Methods in Technical Analysis,” an in-depth step-by-step book that highlights some of the studies he has created over the years and focuses on timing trades and managing risk and expectation using highly sophisticated tools for back /stress testing, statistical analysis and optimization.

Shaun is a Grandfathered member of the Society of Technical Analysts in the U.K., is an active member of the Currensee trader network, contributes content to the traderslaboratory.com and posts on Twitter @Shaun_Downey. He lives in Cambridgeshire with his family and is an avid cook, river boater and motor biker. He enjoys golf but says that his ability doesn’t quite match his enthusiasm. Sounds like you should stick to your trading, Shaun.
